The SproutWorld pencils were handed out to all 400 players of the US KIDS VENICE OPEN tournament as well as to journalists and authorities. The players used them on the field to record their scores during the three days of the competition.
Why:
The Venice Open has received several awards for their commitment to sustainability and therefore the pencils were a great match
The story
The SproutWorld pencils were part of various sustainability initiatives during the event such as Operation Pollinator, Operation Plastic Free, Project 3R – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
We wanted to transmit to the younger generations and their families the importance of environmental sustainability. The motto of this synergy between golf and SproutWorld: "Growing together."
We also promoted the "More birdies, less plastic" initiative in collaboration with the ONE OCEAN Foundation, which involves collecting 1 kg of plastic from beaches for every birdie made by the players (in 2024, over 1,400 birdies).
The public's reaction was excellent. Some were already familiar with the pencils, but for everyone they were a delightful surprise, including the basil seed, a typical plant used in Italian cuisine, which was particularly appreciated by foreign players.
