What does high-end champagne and a food festival in London have to do with sustainable pencils?
Actually, more than you might think!
The Sprout pencils were used as part of a masterclass hosted by Laurent-Perrier at Taste of London in June 2018.
Taste of London is a biannual event with 50,000 food-loving attending visitors. It’s the place, where London’s greatest and most exciting restaurants serve signature dishes, and world-class chefs show cook and participate in interactive masterclasses.
The theme for Laurent-Perrier’s masterclass was sustainability and food, so the sustainable pencils were a perfect match. The pencils were used for note-taking and as part of the giveaway for each of the guests.
“We were partnering with a food recycling & compost company for the masterclass and wanted something that would fit both parties, so the food seeds we chose paired well with the champagne and could be grown in the food waste compost, which means these pencils work perfectly.”
“Everyone was really pleased with them, and they became a great talking point during and after the masterclass. If we were to do similar themed events elsewhere, these pencils would definitely be included in the offering.”
Harriet WALDEN, Marketing Executive, Laurent-Perrier UK
The French winehouse, Laurent-Perrier was founded in 1812, and it’s one of the world’s most important champagne producers, exporting to over 120 countries.
Besides making people happy with their bubbles, they also strive to leave a positive impact on the planet.
So, how is Laurent-Perrier sustainable?
As part of the laws for the region of Champagne in France, they have to protect the land they work with. This means that all of their practices have to be sustainable. They use recycled cardboard for the packaging and recycle waste water during the production process, among other things.
